Fishing is still really good

The tunas are still here and they are hungry! Yesterday we caught our limit in about three circles. They were a really nice class of fish as well. The weather looks good for the next several days so we should be out there getting them.

Tunas are still here!

The last couple of days have been really good tuna fishing-lots of limits have been caught. We've gotten our fair share of fish but it's taken a little longer than I would have liked. We've mostly been fishing just east of the inlet.

More tunas

Well after a great day on Sunday Monday was a real disappointment. We only had 2 tunas and a mako. But Tuesday was another day and the tunas were everywhere. We caught our limit, as did most of the fleet, and came on home. Looking forward to hopefully another great day of fishing tomorrow.

Lots of Tuna

We went on Friday and Saturday and got beat to death. It was really rough both days. A good patch of water had moved in east of the inlet so we tried our luck there but it was so rough it was hard to fish it the way I wanted to. We ended up with one tuna each of the two days-they were big though. Then Sunday came and it laid out a little and the tunas were there in full force. We caught our limit and headed back to the dock a little early. What a difference a day makes! As long as this water stays in we should have pretty good fishing.

Dolphin!

We had a good catch of gaffers yesterday-plenty of meat in the box. I think we had around 40. There were a couple of blue ones seen yesterday-can't wait to get in on some of that action! The water is still pushed way out-we need it come in and the fishing should get better.

Catching up

Fishing has been up and down lately-some days it's pretty good and then others it's awful. Yesterday we about 40 gaffers so there was plenty of meat in the box. I'm not sure where the tuna are this year-we catch a few about every day but they have not shown up in force. We're booked the rest of this week-I'll let you know how we do.

Wahoo and Dophin

We had a great trip on Saturday. We had a limit of gaffer dolphin with some weighing up to 45 pounds! We also had around 6 wahoo and could have had a lot more but the box was full. We found a piece of plastic about as big as the boat and all 8 rods went down with wahoo! Then the water turned blue all around us with dolphin. What a sight! Ready to get back out there again.

Action!

Well, our season finally started in earnest for us on Friday. We've got a few days open over the next couple of months but for the most part we're pretty well booked. Yesterday we had a nice mixed bag. About 6 tuna, 8 dolphin and 2 50lb wahoo. We also missed a mako and had several throw back tunas. Not a bad day to start the season.
