New mate

Ben has decided that he has been a mate long enough and needs to get out into the "real" world. I wish him all the best and will miss him down in the cockpit. Our new mate, Jordan Croswait, is a real pro and is going to do a great job. Fishing is in his blood as his father was a captain at Oregon Inlet for many years and now builds boats in Wanchese. We're looking forward to great year!

More Tuna

We went back offshore on Saturday and were rewarded with a limit of tuna. It was plenty rough but the fishing was great. I'm not sure if the rock are gone for good or will make one more showing. We're only doing a little bit of work on the boat this winter so we'll only be out of the water for about a week or so. The tuna fishing is really good right now so give us a call if you want some early action!

Tuna!

Well, the rock fishing has been a little slow lately. So we decided to go offshore and try for a tuna. Randy Wilson and Tim Phelps from Windosr, NC brought some friends from Iowa and I think they all had a good time. It was pretty rough but we were rewarded with 12 yellowfins and 2 wahoo. I'll take that anytime.

Bluefish

Well, there weren't any rock today but there were plenty of bluefish. We had three couples on board and they had a great time with all the bluefish they could handle. Not sure where the rock went but hopefully we'll find them again.

The fish have returned!

We ended up going fishing yesterday and the rock showed up in full force! The last several days have seen really good fishing with lots of big fish being taken. I think our smallest fish yesterday was around 28 pounds and we had several fish over 40 pounds! We've got several open dates next week so give me a call!

Weekend Report

It's really hard to figure out this rock season. Last week we had really good fishing and then it just vanished. Friday the fish disappeared and they are still missing. There were a few caught yesterday but not many. Hopefully this week will bring better luck. We don't have a trip until the weekend so I'll let you know then what we did.

Fishing Update

I'm sorry for the long delay in reports but for a while there just wasn't much to report. However, the last week has seen excellent fishing. There have been lots of fish and they've been really big. Lots of fish in the 30 to 40 pound range with some topping 50 pounds! Hopefully this will continue for a little while. I promise I'll be much better on my reports.
