Mixed bag

A little engine work turned into a big deal and we spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday doing boat maintenance. Not exactlly my idea of a good time. We made it back out there yesterday and ended up with 5 wahoos, some dolphin, a few tuna and a white marlin. Lots of action for the crew. We're off today and the weather looks pretty iffy for tomorrow but maybe we'll be back fishing on Thursday.

Marlin fishing is still incredible!

Tuesday we saw about 16 fish but only got 7-The fish didn't want to cooperate with us. However, we still had a great day-any day you can fly 7 flags is a great day. Wednesday the action slowed down for us a little bit and we ended up with one white and about 650 pound blue. The blue came in and ate a dink bait on the flat line then turned and ate a dink bait on the long rigger. We had him hooked on two white marlin rigs! He didn't even know he was hooked and we were able to get a quick release on him before he sprinted off. We've got today off-doing a little engine work-but I can't wait to get back out there.

Monday's report

The marlin are still here and they are biting. We went 8 for 12 on the whites for Monday-man what a great time. Let's keep them coming!

World Class Marlin Fishing

The marlin fishing right now is nothing short of incredible! Boats are getting 20 to 30 shots a day over the last two days! I haven't seen it like this in a long time. If we can keep the storms away these fish should stay here through September. We have plenty of open dates in September-give me a call!

Pirate's Cove Tourney Report

What a great tournament! Over 500 billfish were released over 4 days of fishing. It doesn't get much better than that. We had a good showing winning a daily on Friday with 8 releases. We had one blue, 6 whites and a spearfish. That also is a grand slam-just an incredible day of fishing on "The Hooker". To top it off we had a 52 pound wahoo that took 1st place in the meatfish category. We ended up with 12 releases for the tourney which put us in the top ten out of 123 boats. The billfish are here in big numbers-we've got some open dates so give me a call. This is just incredible action we're seeing right now.

Great day of fishing!

Saturday was one of those days you wish you could save for the tournament. We had 4 whites and a big blue that was around 600 pounds. That could have won us a lot of money next week. Hopefully we'll be able to duplicate or even surpass that during the tournament. We're fishing the Alice Kelly today so wish us luck. It looks like Irene is going to head way on out to sea so we should be in good shape.

Fishing report

The last couple of days the marlin bite slowed a little bit. On Tuesday we caught one white, Wednesday it was one blue and yesterday it was a bunch of dolphin. Today we went 2 for 4 on the whites along with a good catch of dolphin. It's not looking good for the tournament next week-even if Irene stays off shore it's going to be mighty rough.

Marlin!

The marlin fishing has been pretty good for "The Hooker" lately. Yesterday we had 3 whites along with a nice gaffer dolphin and a few tuna. On Suday we had a blue and a white and missed another white and a sail. We also had plenty of dolphin that day. I hope this keeps up for the tournament next week.

Could have had a great day

Well, luck wasn't on our side today. We missed a nice blue one that followed our dredge all the way up to the boat. We also missed three whites. We ended up with a few tuna and a few dolphin. Maybe we'll do better today-I hope so

Dolphin and Marlin

We were trying to bail dolphin and a blue marlin came up and ate a dolphin on a bailing rig! He was about 200 pounds and it took about an hour and a half but we got the leader and released him to fight another day. We saw another sail but missed him and we got a few dolphin. Marlin were caught from way up North to way down South. It's hard to know where to go.
