We had a few days off early in the week but the last two days we have seen our share of marlin. On Tuesday we hooked two big blues but lost both of them. We also lost a white and saw two more sails and another white. Our luck wasn't the best to put it mildly. However, on Wednesday the fish gods smiled on us and we went 6 for 8 on the whites. Our anglers, Ross Darling and his father did a great job. Hopefully we'll get them again today.
It's been a good week of fishing for the most part. We've had plenty of dolphin just about every day except Monday. To go along with the dolphin we've had a few billfish thrown in almost every day as well. I sure hope the marlin stay around for the Pirate's Cove tournament that's coming up in a few weeks.
On Tuesday we saw 8 marlin but only managed to get three. We were a blue short of a grand slam. We had would hooked but he got tangled up the teaser line about the time he hooked himself and then he broke off. Man-that makes me mad. We also had about 30 dolphin so it was a great day of fishing!
The marlin fishing stayed strong on Saturday. We caught a blue and a sail and missed another blue and another sail. We also caught plenty of dolphin so it was a good day all the way around. On Sunday the marlin bite cooled off for the whole fleet but we managed to still get our dolphin. A few tuna showed up in places so maybe we'll get some on Monday.
Well, we made it back out there today and we were rewarded. Three out of five white marlin and plenty of dolphin. The boat is running really good right now and the fish should be trying to eat our stern! Let's go fishing.
We hauled out on Tuesday to put a different wheel on. We were thinking it would be a quick up and down but we found some problems we didn't know we had. We're working as hard as we can to get finished and get back into the water. Hopefully we'll be done today and will go fishing tommorrow.

Wow, what a day! We had our limit of dolphin, three tuna, a cobia and a blue marlin. That's what I call fishing. I wish every day could be like that but I guess if you didn't have bad days you couldn't appreciate the good ones.
The last few days have seen lots of dolphin action for "The Hooker". Saturday we also added a wahoo. The marlin bite has been really strong the last two days but we haven't seen one. I'm getting pretty upset about that-it's killing me! We're taking the 4th off but will be back out there on Tuesday. Happy 4th to everyone.
