Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions we receive about chartering with Captain Tom and the Hooker.

If you are visiting the Outer Banks, please stop by Oregon Inlet Fishing Center when the boats come in, generally between 4 & 5 pm.

How much does it cost?

A full-day charter fishing trip on the Hooker is $2000 if paying with cash or check directly to Captain Tom.

If you choose to pay by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) at Oregon Inlet Fishing Center or on the boat the rate will be $2060.

Additional expenses include a tip for the mate of 15% to 20% of the charter price, subject to your satisfaction with the mate's performance.

If you want to pay with cash or check directly to the Hooker, please call Captain Tom 252-473-8559 before 9pm.

A deposit of $1000 is required upon booking confirmation.  Your tentative reservation is not confirmed until we receive your deposit. When we receive your deposit, we will send your reservation confirmation. Balance is due after completion of your charter.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 2 weeks notice to cancel a trip. If the trip is canceled due to inclement weather the deposit is applied to a future trip or refunded based on customer's wishes.

How Many People Can Fish on the Hooker?

The maximum number of guests on the boat is 6 (six). Gotta have room for all the fish we'll catch!

When and how long do we fish?

The boat leaves the dock at 5:30 AM. We suggest you arrive by 5:00 AM to get situated. We usually arrive back at the dock between 4:00 and 5:00 PM.

Do I need a fishing license?

No. Every passenger during your charter is covered under our "Blanket License".

What do I need to bring?

All you'll need is food, drinks, sunblock, and energy! We provide everything fishing related... gear, tackle, ice, bait, etc ...
